hey basketballgemeinde,

ich hätte da mal eine frage, die mich brennend interessiert. und zwar würde ich gerne mal die korrekte übersetzung von "Skip to My Lou" wissen. noch konnte mir niemand eine plausible antwort geben, denn direkt übersetzen glaube ich bringt mich nicht weiter. ich danke euch im vorraus für euer bemühen!!!
für die nächste saison nur eine sache: wade and see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ich mein ich hätte mal gelesen dass rafer in früheren streetball zeit gern über seine gegner drübergesprungen ist und dass heißt dann "skip". für "lou" gibt es keine vernünftige übersetzung, aber die zeitschrift meinte "seele" oder so etwas. also "spring zu meiner seele"...

skip to my loo (oder lou - wird mal so, mal so geschrieben) ist ein kinderlied.
die genaue bedeutung ist nicht ganz klar.
die schreibweise lou meint wohl eine kurzform von louise.
was bei loo keinen sinn macht - loo ist jedenfalls auch eine bezeichnung für bad/toilette.

Als Skip To My Lou im Rucker den Ball vor sich gedribbelt hat, ist er mit leichten, tänzelnden Schritten um den Ball gesprungen (to skip: leichtfüßig Tanzen?). Dann ist der gute Rucker Ansager aufgesprungen und hat gebrüllt: "Ladies and Gentleman! This is Skip To My Lou!"

Es stimmt schon, dass Duke Tango ihm dem Namen verpasst hat, weil Rafer auf dem Platz gehüpft, also geSKIPped ist, aber wie kommt er dann zu TO MY LOU?
Scheint so als hätt er das tatsächlich von einem Kinderlied namens "Skip to my Lou", die Lyrics hab ich mal da unten reingestellt. Wenn ich mir die so durchlese, steht LOU mMn als Namensabkürzung für Louise, inhaltlich also: wenn dies oder jenes("cows in the cornfield, what will i do, skip to my lou, my darlin") passiert, dann "hüpf ich zu meinem Darling, der Louise", so als ultimative Antort auf alle Probleme, das ist Skip also auf Streetball bezogen, der Point GOD!
Vielleicht ist meine Interpretation auch vollkommener Quatsch, oder vielleicht hat Duke den Begriff "Skip"(der ihm ja eindeutig wegen Rafers Hüpfbewegungen einfiel) einfach spontan mit dem Titel dieses Liedes verbunden, ohne jegliche Bedeutung zu bedenken...
wie auch immer, bin für alle anderen Vorschläge offen, wüsste auch schon seit langem gerne, was "Skip to my Lou" nun wirklich bedeutet!
