heute abend gibt's bei bbc radio 2 oasis' version von "within you without you" zu hören, der beitrag zur sgt. pepper compilation anlässlich des 40. jahrestages. blöde wahl, für mich der mit abstand langweiligste und schwächste song des albums. aber mal schauen, was draus geworden ist.

HIER kann man sich den ersten teil der bbc-session (fixing a hole - the frays, getting better - kaiser chiefs, lovely rita - travis, with a little help from my friends - razorlight...) runterladen. ich denke mal, dass das ok ist, da es sich ja um eine radio only geschichte handelt. falls nicht, kann ein mod den link bitte löschen.

Noel Gallagher voted coolest man

Oasis star Noel Gallagher is the coolest man in Britain, according to a survey of young men.

The singer may have celebrated his 40th birthday this year, but he was voted way ahead of young pretenders such as Arctic Monkey Alex Turner.

Liverpool and England footballer Steven Gerrard was second in the 100 Coolest British Men of 2007 list compiled by Zoo magazine.

Doctor Who's David Tennant was third - deemed to be cooler than current James Bond Daniel Craig, who was fourth.

David Beckham was fifth and Formula One star Lewis Hamilton sixth.

Comedians Simon Pegg and Ricky Gervais were ranked seventh and eighth respectively, followed by boxer and BBC Sports Personality of the Year Joe Calzaghe.

Arctic Monkeys frontman Turner brought up the rear in 10th place.
The top 20 included boxer Ricky Hatton, Chelsea defender John Terry and Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson.

While Noel Gallagher headed the list, his younger brother Liam scraped in at number 22.

Zoo editor Ben Todd said: "These inaugural awards have revealed some quite surprising results with Noel Gallagher, who has acquired something of an 'elder statesman' role, topping the poll.

"It shows that he is someone young people today strive to be like - perhaps even more so than when Oasis dominated the charts a decade ago."

The list contained a handful of older stars, including Sir Paul McCartney at 55 and Sir Mick Jagger at 73.

Elsewhere, Prince Harry made it to number 37, although there was no place for his brother William.

Simon Cowell was a late entrant at number 98.

A new Adidas TV campaign charts the company's development from its origins in founder Adi Dassler's workshop to its status today as a global sports and fashion brand.

The ad campaign, which breaks this week, features references to famous tie-ups or fans that Adidas has had down the years, including Liverpool football club, Liam and Noel Gallagher from Oasis, Bob Marley and Muhammad Ali.

Adidas' new campaign, created by ad agency 180 Amsterdam, depicts a painstakingly reconstructed miniature version of Dassler's original workshop shot using stop-frame animation.

It tells the story of Dassler, whose name was shortened to create the Adidas brand name, creating his first sports shoe in 1925 and, through a tour of his workshop, how over the years the company has grown.

The camera moves past objects including a 1980s ghetto blaster, a reference to Run DMC helping to make the brand cool with the rap My Adidas; a skateboard signed by Mark Gonzales; pictures of Bob Marley and Oasis; and a Liverpool flag.

Some of the references to sports stars have been made obliquely as there are rights issues around using their actual names.

A picture of some boxing boots is accompanied by the line "He made boxing boots for the greatest of all time", a reference to Muhammad Ali, and mention is made to the creation of "Signature shoes for some of the most colourful tennis players to grace the sport".

There are also pictures and clips of the 1954 German World Cup football winning team, who were kitted out in Adidas boots, Jesse Owens, and Dick Fosbury, inventor of the modern technique for the high jump, the Fosbury flop.

The creators of the ad also had to make sure the Liverpool flag did not appear next to the picture of the Gallagher brothers because of their fierce allegiance to Manchester City.

Dassler's workshop was recreated by 30 people and took more than a month to build.

The ad features an original piece of music composed and performed by the Prague Symphony orchestra and is narrated by Das Boot actor Jurgen Prochnow.

"It could have been an impossible task given Adi's hallowed status at Adidas," said Richard Bullock, the executive creative director at 180 Amsterdam.

"Fortunately our client was particularly brave and understood the respect and charm the stop frame technique would lend to his story."

BRITPOP veterans OASIS have cleaned up in the all-time album charts.

Definitely Maybe from 1994 was voted top of the 50 Best Ever British Albums with the 1995 follow-up (What's The Story) Morning Glory? second.

The Manchester band, fronted by brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher, beat classics by THE BEATLES, THE CLASH and THE STONE ROSES in a poll by music mag Q and retailer HMV.

RADIOHEAD's 1997 masterpiece OK Computer came third while AMY WINEHOUSE was the only female on the list, with Back To Black at 35.

Q editor Paul Rees said: "Having polled three times more votes than any other act, Oasis are undoubtedly the nation's most loved band."

Paul Weller will release a collaboration with Oasis' Noel Gallagher and Gem Archer on May 26 as a single.

The new song, entitled 'Echoes Round The Sun', will be released alongside 'Have You Made Up Your Mind' to comprise the first release from Weller's forthcoming new double solo album, '22 Dreams'.

"In songwriting terms, it’s the first Weller/Gallagher collaboration,” Weller told Uncut. “Noel came down to the studio with this loop he’d never been able to do anything with. He played the bass and the piano and then Gem played guitar on top. It’s a top tune."

Other guests on Weller's forthcoming double album, which will be released on June 2, include Graham Coxon, Little Barrie and ex-Stone Roses guitarist Aziz Ibrahim.

So, mal meine Meinung, nachdem das Wunder ja nun geschehen ist:

Stop the clocks: naja, etwas lahm, B-Side Material, nicht mehr
Nothing on me: schneller Song, ganz ok, wenn auch das unverwechselbare etwas fehlt
Record Machine: erinnert etwas an Lennon, nicht schlecht

was ich bisher gelesen habe, sagt eigentlich, dass stc ziemlich ok ist, aber dem hype nicht gerecht wird (wie auch?). nothing on me soll der schwächste der songs sein, eine art force of nature 2. record machine muss wohl ein ziemlich gutes ding sein , wobei man bedenken muss, dass das wohl alles nur demos aus der dbbt-zeit sein sollen (also u.u. bis zu vier jahre alt).

bin schon sehr gespannt und werde mir heute abend ein eigenes bild machen.

Nennt mich leidenschaftslos, aber ich kann sone Art von Fanatismus irgendwie echt nicht nachvollziehen.

schade für dich.

oasis ist halt eine band, die in einer zeit groß geworden ist, in der das internet in der form, wie wir es heute kennen, nicht vorhanden war. jeder soundpartikel von neuen sachen, die man damals mitbekommen hat, wurde aufgesogen. das alles hatte damals etwas mystisches. allein den titel eines neuen songs irgendwo aufgeschnappt zu haben, war etwas besonderes. und das hat (zumindest bei mir) bis in die heutige zeit überlebt. mir ist keine band bekannt, von der so viele fake-titel von neuen songs im netz herumheistern, wie von oasis. das ist seit jeher so. unveröffentlichte oasis-songs waren schon immer was besonderes.

um was zu den songs zu sagen: bis gestern war es nicht mal 100% sicher, dass es diese songs wirklich gibt. seit jahren kursieren zwar die titel, aber es hat sie nie einer gehört. und heute morgen schaue ich ins internet und sehe, dass die demos diesers songs ihren weg ins netz gefunden haben! knaller!
