Jose Luis Castillo and Diego "Chico" Corrales are ready to do it again on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006. The world's most talented and courageous lightweights will collide in an eagerly awaited rubber match to decide once and for all the #1 135-pound fighter on the planet. The 12-round bout, co-promoted by Top Rank, Inc., and Gary Shaw Productions, LLC will air LIVE on SHOWTIME at 9 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the west coast). A site will be announced in the near future. Endlich macht einer mal ein Topic dazu auf ich denke mir immer jemand anderes wird es schon machen..
Diesmal wird man sehen dass das Gewicht bei ihnen nicht die ausschlaggebende rolle gespielt hat, corrales kann nicht über 12 runden lang boxen das ist auch nicht sein stil und brawlen kann er zwar leider aber nicht gegen castillo weil sein kinn ist einfach viel besser als chicos ausserdem ist castillo im infight wohl der beste in seiner Gewichtklasse.
Ich sehe keinen weg für corrales und tippe wie im zweiten kampf auf einen

By Paul Upham: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum announced on Thursday during a media telephone conference call that he has solved the weight problems of Jose Luis Castillo for his third fight with Diego Corrales on February 4, 2006 at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, USA televised on SHOWTIME.

"We have taken all precautions to make sure that Jose Luis makes the weight," smiled Arum. "I have hired on stand-by a Rabbi who performs circumcisions and if he comes in over weight, the Rabbi will do the appropriate thing."

The call was then delayed for a minute while all involved recovered from nearly choking on their laughter.

Castillo's weight was a major talking point after the 32 year-old Mexican was unable to make the lightweight limit for his rematch with Corrales on October 8. There was then controversy when Castillo won the fight by 4th round knockout.

The two will now meet for a third time in an event titled "The War To Settle The Score On February 4".

When conference call host John Beyrooty asked if Castillo had any closing comments, Arum replied.

"Jose Luis has no more comments. He is in the steam room losing weight!"

Finde diese Ironie ekelhaft... Castillo wird von seinem Management als Unschuldslamm dargestellt. Statt dem dummen Geschwätz sollten sie sich lieber mal für den Betrugsversuch entschuldigen, das war unterste Schublade und hat im Boxen nichts verloren.

Hat sich chico dafür entschuldigt, zweimal auf der Verliererstraße einfach den Mundschutz zu droppen, nein also versteh ich auch nicht warum sich castillo großartig entschuldigen sollte, jeder hat in einem kampf beschissen oder es zu mindest versucht, der dritte kampf wird fair und schon past alles.

Warum kämpf die schon wieder gegeneinander? Ich fände eine Revanche gegen Freitas oder einen dritten Kampf gegen Casamayor (zumal er die ersten beiden klar verloren hat) interessanter.

das, was man vor freitas gelernt hat, ist nicht zwangsläufig fair.

ich weiß nicht, welche beiden letzten fights diego gegen joel meinst, diego hat den letzten gegen joel nach sd gewonnen.
die boxen zum dritten mal gegeneinander, weil es bisher sehr spannende und SPORTLICHE fights waren und beim letzten mal el terrible zu viel gewicht auf den hüften hatte.
jetzt geht es zum zweiten mal um die titel, wenn nicht wieder jemand zu schwer ist.
ach ja, und im endeffekt gehts natürlich ums geld, viel geld!!! :cool4:

Nein was ne *******e nein was ist denn des für ne ******* Nachricht ey zum kotzen echt, ich hab mich so gefreut und nun dass, vielleicht ist es aber auch besser für die Gesundheit der Fighter, vor allem für Corrales der nun ein bisschen länger noch pausieren kann.
Hoffentlich kommt der Kampf dann auch im April.

Habe mich auf den Kampf bei weitem nicht so gefreut wie damals auf den zweiten. Die ganze Gewichts Geschichte hat bei mir nen ziemlich schalen Beigeschmack hinterlassen und derzeit trauer ich - so komisch es sich anhört - diesem Kampf nicht hinterher. Es gibt genügend andere Klasseansetzungen, die gemacht werden können in und um diese Gewichtsklasse.

Kann eigentlich wer was zu sagen, dass beide nach ihrer Triologie aufsteigen wollen? Wohl möglich ins weltergewicht? Also Ich sehe da für nen brawlenden Corrales NULL Chance, dem Castillo hingegen würde ich nen Titel zutrauen.

Imo völlig in Ordnung das beide aufsteigen, körperlich können beide da mithalten boxerisch erst recht. Und natürlich ins Welter wohin denn sonst?
Corralles ganz streichen, würde ich auf jeden Fall nicht, dass er gegen Castillo immer bissle dumm aussehen wird ist klar, aber ich denke er wird seinen weg auch im Welter gehen, obwohl ich deine Aussage durchaus nachvollziehen kann, denn es könnte doch gut sein dass er leichte Probleme mit seinem Kinn haben wird, weil die Gegner punchen da sicher noch härter also von daher muss man sehen schwer zu beurteilen. Für Castillo gibt es éh keine Grenze der Mann kannn alles, und ich würde mich nicht wundern wenn er das Welter ne zeitlang dominiert, wenn Mayweather wieder runter geht, dann würde ich dass sogar tippen. Weil körperlich ist er imo im Welter top aufgehoben, und verstehe da teilweise leute nicht die meinen gegen Cotto usw wäre er körperlich im nachteil usw. sowas glaub ich nicht.
