Willibaldo Garcia vs. Rene Calixto
Geht um den vakanten IBF-Titel im Superfliegengewicht. Signifikanter 50/50 Fight.
Each day, I’ll post something about a prospect, contender or champ and bring eyes to these guys or talk about an aspect of their game that interests me. I’ll do more than one boxer if I haven’t talked about one of them before that’s fighting on the day I post these.
Aoi is a 23-year-old prospect with a record of 1-0 from Japan. He does have an alright amateur resume, with a record of 44-12, winning a championship in Japan.
Aoi reminds me of Naoya Inoue, their fight style are so similar and so are their physical attributes. He's athletic, quick and powerful.
He can mix up his guard from a high guard to an L-guard to make his jab more versatile because his jab is a machine gun with 100% accuracy. To the head, body or doubling it always lands very crisp. He sets up combinations and extended combinations quickly and well, he has amazing footwork to where he creates angles amazingly, he can fight on the back foot, and front foot and stand and outbox you in the middle. His counters are also on point in which he can escape and re-enter or continue with combinations alongside that. He's comfortable throwing lead crosses or hooks when needed and if his jabs are taken away or to display more versatility. He does show the basics by slipping his head with every punch he throws.
As I said, his jab is a machine gun that lands 100% of the time and his hooks and crosses are like snipers with a guided missile in it; extremely powerful, quick and very accurate.
Just go look at his fights and you'll see he's just like Inoue.
He's scheduled to face Denmark Quibido on the 12 of next month. He has a great contract, team and management to where he might not be far away from the top of the rankings.
