Finally, the Deal sending Harrison Barnes, Ogjnen Kuzmic and a Warriors First Round Pick in 2015 to Atlanta for Demarre Carroll and the 43rd Pick of this years Draft, is completed, after a CBA Rule delayed the Process.
Warriors GM Guerrero said he was very happy to finally welcome Carroll to the Warriors:
"He will brings us much needed Perimeter Defense for our secondary Unit"
Carroll said: "I am part of a contender, which makes me very happy. This Team can go a long way, there were a few things the Front Office needed to tweek and they are doing it right now." After being asked about his role as a part of secondary Unit he added: "I was never about numbers. If I score 2 or 20, I dont care, as long as my Team wins. The GM has told me, that I might have one of the most important Jobs as a defensive leader of the secondary Unit, because thats where the team was struggling, so if I can be the one to change that, and the GM and Coach believe so, than I am more than happy to accept this Role."
Furthermore, this Deal sends Barnes to Atlanta, a player who just didn't make the transition to a valuable sixth man after a decent Rookie year. Guerrero commented on Barnes' departure, saying: "Barnes is a great guy with a lot of Potencial. Sometimes, when you are competing for a title, you cant start thinking about the future and development of Players, so people, who should be starting for the benefit of the future, can't and don't. Barnes will go his way, and I am sure he will do well in the future. I wish him the best."
This is the Warriors second Aquisition this season, after having signed Jameer Nelson as a Backup Point Guard.
