Here we are,
It may not come as a surprise for some of you but it's a news a wanted to share with you..
I decided to end my ski jumping carreer. It wasn't an easy decision but after 15 years of jumping and 11 of international competitions I think I've reached the end of my story as an athlete. I will take my last official jump on sunday, probably with a big pinch in my heart but without any regrets. I had the best years of my life thanks to ski jumping ; intenses emotions, friendships, joy, sorrow, pain, victories, medals, defeats, sacrifices, fear, doubts, relief, happiness, all of this feelings I had through this years I lived them at the most. It's these and the people who shared these years of my life that made me the person I am today. I grew up with ski jumping, I watched women ski jumping fight to have the same rights and honors as men. Even if there is still a long way to go untill ski flying, equals prize money or team competitions in big events, I have faith in the amazing athletes who make this sport live. I am proud to have taken part in this fight and written a little piece of its history.
I want to thank all my trainers : Choc with whom everything started on the jumping hill of Les Contamines. Pierrot, who believed in me and fought for me when never a girl (and morover a 9 years old girl) had joined the regional team. Kévin, who was there throughout my high school years. Jacques, who decided once to create a ladies ski jumping team whith two unknown girls who had no idea what high level sport was. He was with me for seven years, and thanks to him I won an olympic medal, a medal at World champioships and climbed several times on a world cup podium but mostly he guided me, (yelled at me, a lot), educated me and gave me principles I'm proud i have now. Fred Zoz, without whom my olympic story wouldn't have been the same either, thank you for pushing me, waking me up and supporting me. Damien, who never stoped believing in me even when I didn't, thank you for that and thank you for giving me a chance. Alex, thank you for all the energy you spent for us and the laughs we had. And Mino, who will probably remain my last coach, the year we had together allowed me to enjoy ski jumping and working hard again, and that's why I can take this decision today without being frustrated. I can never thank all of you enough, and congrats, you deserve a special medal for dealing with my bullshit all this years !!
I want to thank the French Ski Federation as well who always supported me and cheered for me, even in the thoughest times.
Big shoutout to all the doctors and physio, you often are in the shadow but we couldn't do anything without you !
I'm deeply thankfull for all my sponspors, Les Contamines, the Team Caisse d'Epargne, Julbo, Les Douanes, Beswemk (and Caro, long before that), Vola Racing and KL Sealing Ski jumping Team, I couldn't have lived this life without you...
To my Mom, who pushed me into this life, not because she liked competition but because she knew long before me it was my path, to my Dad, my biggest fan (and the most stressed) but who was always proud of me (even when i was 39th), to my family, friends and supporters (#lesRhodos), I can't thank you enough for having been by my side the whole time...
And to conclued, to all the people i met during this career, to my team-mates, to the long life friends ski jumping gave me, I'm so gratefull I've had the chance to live this moments with you, it's been a wonderfull journey and a lifetime of memories ! This part of my life is over, but another one begins and I'm eager to find out what's to come next ! I'll forever keep these amazing frienships, these moments and these joys and they will give me strengh to go forward and take on new adventures !
