I have an important question that is a little off topic, but it involves a boxer and I'm sure somebody here knows:
I know a boxer in Germany (with a permanent visum) who's a close friend of mine. Today he called me and said he was taken to court because of debts. (doctor, electricity, hospital) They told him that if he doesn't pay he has to go to jail for 3 months. I never heard if going to jail for that reason, unless you have huge tax debts (own money to the state). Of course he is very worried. He simply COULDN'T pay his bills anymore as he didn't have a working permit before and didn't get enough fights. I have a feeling the court tried to scare him or that he didn't understand them properly. Can anybody tell me what the law says in Germany in regards to debts? Thanks in advance.
