TRINADAD VS DE LA HOYA REMATCH
The on again off again rematch between 3 division world champion Felix Trinidad and Oscar De La Hoya seems to be refueling, AGAIN. Trinidad who retired on January 19, 2008 has resparked his interest in fighting the Mexican legend. Felix has no plans to return to the ring but will start hitting the gym if Oscar is game. Oscar retired in December 2008 and has stated that he still has the itch but doesn't know if his body can handle it. The two legends matched up on September 18, 1999 with Tito pulling off a majority decision victory. The rivaly between Puerto Rico and Mexico always makes for an interesting fight! Depending on who you ask, some saw the fight for Trinidad and others saw it for De La Hoya. The rematch has been in talks many of times before but never came to fruitation. Money has always been an issue. It seems now Felix doesn't think it will be though. Another valid question is what weight will they fight at? Oscar has never fought above 160 and Tito has fought as high as 170 against Roy Jones Jr. Some experts predict if the fight does take place it will be at 168. This fight seems more like a dream (as it has also in the past) than a reality so don't get your hopes up, but, if this fight were to happen would anyone even be interested? There is a lot more questions than answers to this story which is never a good sign. Then again crazier stuff has happened!
