Hamed sentenced to 15 months!
By Craig Watt
Former WBO and IBF Featherweight Champion Prince Naseem Hamed was today jailed for 15 months at Sheffield Crown Court today for dangerous driving. The 32-year-old Hamed wrote off his $500,000 McLaren Mercedes when he was doing over 90 mph and hit an on-coming car that saw the other driver severely injured in the incident. The victim, Antony Burgin aged 38 years of age spent several weeks in hospital and doctors confirmed, "broke every major bone in his body." Hamed has talked about making a comeback later in 2006 but this sentence will prevent this happening in the short term.
