Danish referee and judge Soren Saugmann has caught an earful for using his cell phone while he was judging an important bout on the undercard of Mikkel Kessler vs. Markus Beyer in October of last year. TV footage and still pics clearly show Saugmann fumbling with his phone and placing it to his ear in an apparent conversation that lasted about 40 seconds during the first round of the super middleweight contest between then WBO #1 rated Rudy Markussen of Denmark and Russian Sergei Tatevosyan. The Danish boxing site knock-out.dk first revealed the story with photos, and the incident was later also published in the Danish newspaper B.T. today. Saugmann, who is also an EBU-official, has no comment on the incident, and the president of the Danish Professional Boxing Federation stated he doesn’t want to comment on internal affairs. Gibt es ein Qualitaetsproblem unter den europaeischen Punktrichtern?
Muesste da mal richtig aufegraeumt werden oder ist das nur Einzelfall?
Beschwerden ueber Fehl-Urteile gibt es mehr als genug...
