Bit more from KykkÀnen. He gives two reasons for his decision. First, he thinks that right now Harri doesn't need a sport trainer and secondly last year has been so burdensome with Harri that he can not take it anymore. But he also makes it clear that he is quiting only the trainer-part of their relationship. If he will still be able to help Harri other ways, he will. Newest, official, word is, that Harri is not suspended and has every chance to be back at World Cup. NiemelÀ wants to clarify that Harri is not in Kuopio because of the punishment FIS gave and will not be at Lillehammer because he has not jumped well enough. And if Harri wants to succeed and be back at World Cup he needs to have good results at Continental Cup and after that he can come back to World Cup.
Even in press the "you should not kick one on the ground too long"-instincts has begun to come up. Iltalehti of all papers moralizes other press and people on message boards for kicking when one is on the ground already and praises other jumpers (Ville, Kalle and Matti) of being extremely discreet when asked about Harri. Also Kantee and NiemelÀ are refraining from elaborating what was wrong with Harri's behaviour (and thus not giving any stones for anyone to throw at.) Only Tommi Nikunen is still giving hard blows (he tells that Harri lacks two basic human attributes, conscience and respect of others and that he is very happy he doesn't need to have anything to do with Harri.)
It's either so that they have decided that Harri has already gotten enough stick and they need to start to wave carrots or that Harri is in the bad shape and they know that and don't want to make suffering worse any more. That's great to hear. Harri needs help not punishment. I really hope to see him back in ski jumping soo.
I was in Oberstdorf when he won his first world cup and I would love to see this happy guy again.

Ich finde keiner von uns sollte ĂŒber Harri und sein Verhalten urteilen. Er wird seine GrĂŒnde dafĂŒr haben, warum alles im Moment so lĂ€uft. Und ich denke in jedermanns Leben gibt es Phasen wo es besser ist nicht in der Ăffentlichkeit zu stehen, damit sich nicht jeder das Mundwerk zerreiĂt. Er wird schon wieder in den Tritt kommen. Einfach Zeit lassen und abwarten!
According the Ilta-Sanomat Harri has told A-P Nikkola that he will not jump at COC Rovaniemi via SMS. Nikkola states that Harri would have had a place on the team for Rovaniemi and he will talk with Harri about the matter before he makes decisions about the team.

Lapin Kansa tells that Harri changed his mind. He will jump at Rovaniemi as will also Olli Muotka and Sami Niemi.
Official statement for the Finnish group for COC Rovaniemi is not yet out.
In Urheilulehti Jari Kupila wrote a very good editorial about lack of adequate policy concerning athletes' mental problems management compared to situation there they either hurt themselves or are hit by a somatic illness. He doesn't mention Harri's name but compares a situation there the ski jumper hits the abrupt gust of wind and doesn't come down feet first or when the athlete gets a bad flu to the situation there the athlete gets overwhelmed by pressure and anxiety and falls sick. And how when the athlete breaks his leg it will be automatic thing that the system finds him the best possible treatment and it would be considered the shame if they wouldn't but when the athlete is hit by the mental illness or problem they are left alone and abandoned.

Man hat das Gefuehl das die Ausgangslage Àndert sich stuendlich. Ich hoffe er lÀsst sich im COC blicken, damit er nicht ganz den Anschluss verliert.
