MILWAUKEE -- Charlie Villanueva just can't shake the injury bug.
The Bucks' talented young forward recently missed 10 games because of a torn ligament in his left elbow.
Now, he could miss some more games.
Villanueva told me he wouldn't play in Saturday night's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves and he wasn't sure if he wolud miss anymore games.
"It's been an on-going thing,'' said Villanueva, who was wearing a heavy shoulder wrap before the game. "It's pretty sore now. We'll see how it feels tomorrow.''
Villanueva, whom the Bucks acquired in a major trade from Toronto over the summer for point guard T.J. Ford, said he had consulted with Dr. John Heinrich, one of the Bucks' medical advisors. Villaneuva said Heinrich had given him some pills for the shoulder and would check his injury status Sunday.
Villanueva is the Bucks' third-leading scorer, averaging 14.7 points. He is also the Bucks' second-leading rebounder at 6.7. Villanueva played only 17 minutes and scored eight points in the Bucks' 117-111 loss to Chicago Friday night, although Villanueva said his shoulder didn't bother him.
Prior to the Chicago game, the 6-foot-11 Villanueva had two excellent games: a 23-point outing against New Jersey on Dec. 13 and a 24-point performance against New York on Dec. 9.
Stotts said he wasn't told that Villanueva couldn't play until about a hour before the game.
"I don't know if I would classify it as serious or not,'' Stotts said of Villanueva's injury. "It is what it is. There's nothing we can do about it.''
