Frage an alle erfahrenen FGer und Baron-Besitzer.... ?
Muss man,oder muss man nicht?
Steve Nash, whose inflammed right shoulder kept him out of the second half of Monday's game, probably will not play on Tuesday versus the Trail Blazers.
The ailment, which began last Thursday, has given him more muscle soreness and spasms with each day and doesn't sound good. "My shoulder is frozen," Nash said. "I can't move like I want to without the ball. That's when the pain gets worse." Suns athletic trainer Aaron Nelson added that the inflammation has to go down before Nash can strengthen his shoulder, and that the swelling leads to frequent spasms in his shoulder, neck and trapezius. None of that is very positive, and Nash's owners should keep him benched until some good news surfaces.
Update: Warriors coach Don Nelson said that he expected point guard Baron Davis' injury -- described by team officials as a bruised left knee -- to cost him "a few games".
Na da können sich ja alle Besitzer aufstrebender Guards ja über einen Wertzuwachs freuen!
CHICAGO -- The Chicago Bulls will likely be without Andres
Nocioni until after the All-Star break.
Coach Scott Skiles says the third-year forward needs seven to 10
days of rest to recover from plantar fasciitis in his right foot.
The Bulls have three games left on a seven-game trip.
Nocioni -- who is averaging 15 points and six rebounds a game --
will stay with the team on the trip.
DENVER -- Allen Iverson can run just fine on his sprained
right ankle.
If only he could cut on it.
The Denver Nuggets point guard made it through practice Tuesday
afternoon on the tender ankle and is optimistic he'll be ready to
play New Orleans on Wednesday. Iverson has missed four straight
games after injuring the ankle against Charlotte on Jan. 29.
"As far as running straight, I think I can do that all night
long," Iverson said. "But just cutting the way I usually do,
that's the main part of my game. I'm limited in that."
A limited Iverson is better than no Iverson, at least in Denver
coach George Karl's opinion. Iverson still is listed as a game-time
decision.
"Allen knows we're in a position where his presence is going to
help us, whatever it is, 70 percent, 80 percent," Karl said. "I
think his presence on the court will help us. He's a pro. He knows
how to figure out what he can do, what he can't do. I think we
could use him."
Iverson, recently named to his eight straight All-Star team,
might have to adjust his game while the ankle heals. That or hope
adrenaline kicks in and he won't notice the pain.
Center Marcus Camby, however, is still listed as doubtful with a
strained left groin.
Camby, injured last Saturday against Sacramento, missed four
games earlier in the season with a fractured right hand and has
been playing for more than a month with it taped up.
Carmelo Anthony (left wrist sprain) and Steve Blake (stitches in
his lip and a hyperextended elbow) both received treatment Tuesday
and are expected to play Wednesday.
The Nuggets have dropped three of four in Iverson's absence.
What's more, injuries and suspensions have made it difficult for
this team to build chemistry.
"We wanted to see how it would've been with all of us there,
but we can't cry over spoiled milk," said Iverson, who's averaging
28.9 points a game. "We've got to move on to the next game."
MILWAUKEE -- Bucks center Dan Gadzuric dislocated his left
shoulder on Saturday night and will miss six weeks.
The team said Tuesday that Gadzuric injured the shoulder late in
the third quarter of the Bucks' 117-98 loss to the Miami Heat.
Gadzuric has appeared in 44 of Milwaukee's 48 games this season
as a reserve, averaging 3.8 points and 3.6 rebounds in about 13
minutes a game.
The Bucks had hoped Michael Redd, who is averaging 27.2 points
per game, would play in Tuesday night's game against the Orlando
Magic after returning to practice on Monday for the first time
since spraining his left knee on Jan. 5 against the Cleveland
Cavaliers.
But coach Terry Stotts said after Monday's practice that Redd
wouldn't be available against the Magic.
BOSTON -- Celtics forward Paul Pierce, who has missed 22
games and all of Boston's franchise-record 14-game losing streak,
was sent home from Detroit on Tuesday because of swelling in his
left elbow and a low-grade fever.
Pierce hasn't played since Dec. 20. He was diagnosed with a
stress reaction in his left foot the next day and was expected to
miss two to three weeks, but only recently resumed light practicing
with the team.
Pierce went with the team to Detroit, though he was not expected
to play against the Pistons. He was sent home before Tuesday
morning's shootaround to meet with the team physician.
Entering Tuesday's game against Detroit, Boston was 2-20 since
Pierce went out.
PHOENIX -- All-Star point guard Steve Nash will miss the
Phoenix Suns' game at Portland on Tuesday night because of
inflammation in his right shoulder.
The NBA's two-time defending MVP didn't play in the second half
of the Suns' 113-108 victory in Denver on Monday night.
That didn't stop him from lecturing his teammates after a
lethargic first half. The team responded with a strong second half
for its 38th victory of the season.
Nash said he first felt soreness in the shoulder when he got out
of bed Thursday and it has worsened since.
After Tuesday's game, the Suns don't play again until Friday,
when they are home against Atlanta.
Nash is averaging career highs of 19.3 points and an NBA-leading
11.8 assists per game.
Michael Redd (knee) will travel with the Bucks to Oklahoma City and be a game-time decision for Thursday's game.
He was sore after his first practice on Monday, and owners in daily leagues may want to be cautious and leave him on the bench. Those in weekly leagues should know by the end of Saturday night whether Redd will be a safe start for Week 16.
Wizards coach Eddie Jordan said that Michael Ruffin, despite making progress on his sprained right foot, is not ready to practice.
This has to be something worse than a sprain. Ruffin, who hasn't played since November 21, participated in Saturday's shoot-around session but suffered a setback.
Raptors G/F Fred Jones, who has not played in the team's last three games, has been bothered by a dislocated finger.
After getting some big minutes in November and December, Jones fell off the map in January. He shouldn't be on any fantasy rosters right now.
As expected, Rashard Lewis (hand) will not play on Wednesday against the Pacers.
He returns to practice today, however, and is expected to play when the Sonics host the Kings on Saturday.
.Joining the Hornets on their current road trip, Peja Stojakovic (back) gingerly took 49 shots prior to Monday's shootaround at Arco Arena.
He didn't jump and essentially used only his arms. There's still a strong possibility that Stojakovic will not return this season.
