Außerdem ist es doch nicht alleine das Alter. Lassen wir mal Holmes zu Wort kommen:

Da hinkt der Vergleich mit einem leichten past-prime Lewis schon gewaltig.

Holmes stellt das so nicht ganz richtig da. Erstens war der Kampf deutlich mehr als nur 2 Monate vorher fix. Dieses Interview hier ist im Rahmen des Tyson-Biggskampfes, gut 3 Monate vor Tyson-Holmes und da weiss Holmes schon, dass er gegen Tyson boxt:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m861f99Nkvk&feature=related

Und außerdem hat Holmes irgendwie doch fest geglaubt, dass er gegen Tyson was reißen kann, denn als King nach dem Kampf in die Kabine ging um Holmes zu trösten ging dieser wütend auf ihn los, weil King ihn verheizt habe. Holmes hatte sich durchaus was ausgerechnet und kam nicht ausschließlich zum Kassieren!
