WOW! SVG just MURDERED EVERYBODY in the post game! I like it, they deserve it.
"The Thunder are a better team than us...they have a better roster than us...they would have beaten us at our place or their place even with everybody back"
"We are a white collar team right now, and those kinds of teams don't win on the road"
"This team is predicated entirely on shooting...we are not tough, we don't play defense, we are not smart"
Paraphrased from SVG's postgame responses...man, he sounded hateful.

I can't put my finger on it, but there is no chemistry on this team.
I know that teams have bad games. But the Magic only have failed to score 75 points one other time in the past two seasons, and that was against a good Denver team coming near the end of a long road trip. I don't know if they have lost by that many points since Dwight and Jameer have been on the team. They already have played two games that they would want to burn the tapes on in the first seven games.
This team does not show the resiliency it has shown the past two seasons. Most of them -- but not all -- don't seem to care about playing any defense. They don't know when to stop shooting the 3 when it's not going down. I think teams are shooting better than 50 percent on the Magic.
Yes, I know they are missing a lot of scoring because of injuries. So let's talk about that. Some ofo that is about toughness, too.
Vince Carter already has missed more games in less than his first two weeks with the Magic than Hedo Turkoglu missed total in two seasons. I don't know if Courtney missed any games until Dwight crushed his face. You can't rush Vince back before he's ready or he'll play like crap and be hurt again. If he doesn't feel healthy, he can't play. He could be frickin Michael Jordan, and if he can't play, he doesn't help at all. With every loss, their chance of home court drops.
I know they are 5-2. I know it's early. But they don't look like the team that played with the desire to win and get to the Finals. Not all of the team members -- many are, especially Dwight and Jameer -- but not all == are cheering for one another on the bench like they did the past few seasons. Not all the players are playing badly. But they don't seem to fit as a team, for whatever reason, and the new guys don't seem to be getting what Stan wants to do. They are not digging in their heels and fighting for games like they did before. A lot of guys are hurt; they are sick. And we are hearing about it....which means they are using it as a reason not to play well. Al
Stan Van Gundy had a message for his team prior to practice Saturday at RDV Sportsplex.
It was simple: The defense needs to improve.
It's hard to disagree. For all the publicity the Magic receive as an offensive juggernaut that loves to shoot 3-pointers, it's easy to forget that their success last season primarily came because of their work on the defensive end. The Magic allowed their opponents to shoot just 43.27 percent from the field last season, third-best in the NBA, trailing only the Boston Celtics (43.05 percent) and the Cleveland Cavaliers (43.06 percent).
This season's only six games old, but the Magic have allowed their opponents to shoot 46.0 percent from the field.
Van Gundy said he and his coaches track nine different statistics to evaluate their defense. They are:
● opponents' field-goal percentage,
● opponents' 3-point shooting percentage,
● the number of 3-pointers that opponents make,
● the number of free-throw attempts allowed,
● fast-break points allowed,
● points in the paint allowed,
● layups allowed,
● defensive rebounding percentage and
● second-chance points.
Van Gundy and his coaches told their players before practice on Saturday that so far this season -- with a few minor exceptions -- the Celtics, the Cavaliers and the Miami Heat had posted better numbers in all nine areas.
"That's not something you want to see," Van Gundy said. "Our numbers need to move to where those three teams' numbers are if we're serious about where we need to go. That was pre-practice today: showing them in black-and-white these are the numbers, these are where your competitors are and this is where we need to get to."
Stan Van Gundy concerned acout his teams defense

The thunder were who we thought they were. :laugh2:
