Michael Lawrence targets Miguel Barrera
Michael 'The Ko' Lawrence lost his last bout clearly to Roy Junior but he isn't done yet. On a press conference yesterday at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas (Lawrence won the Undisputed Super-Flyweight crown against Jorge Carbajal their), Lawrence announced, that he will fight on more time. He will step down to Strawweight and challenge Miguel Barrera for the Undisputed Title. The WBA declares Lawrence to the No.1 Contender after this press conference. "I want this fight more then anything else, I hope that Barrera will give me my last dream fight". Lawrence lost 5 out of his last 8 bouts. Since he won the Super-Flyweight title against Carbajal, he defends it in a Rematch against Carbajal, against Ray McRobinson (who was Undefeadet and the No.1 Contender), against Schach Matt, twice against Miguel Vargas (lost one by DQ, clearly won the Rematch), against Jose Navarrez (a future Hall of Famer), twice against Lothar Bethke (lost the first by Ko, won the Rematch by TKO) and against Sichitnoi Ping Pang. Then he stepped up to Middleweight and received a very amazing beating against Max Hooligan. He tries to get the Junior-Flyweight Title after that but lost in a rubber match to Lothar Bethke. Back at Flyweight, he lost his last Titleshot to Eagle Parra by KO in Round 11. Julio Caesar Morientes ends Lawrence' carrer for the first time after the Parra bout. He outpoints him clearly. After a long lay off, Lawrence started his Comeback and beats Frankie Genaro (a former Champion) twice, once by Ko, once by Decision. After this he fought Roy Junior. Now he will step into the ring for the last time against Barrera.
