Da hast du völlig recht. In Calgary regten sich seinerzeit die etablierten Springer auf, dass mit ihm so ein Kult getrieben wurde und er so im Mittelpunkt stand. Ich persönlich fand das auch überzogen.

So wie ich gelesen habe, tritt er an, also als Vorspringer.

Also in dem englischen Artikel steht ja drin, dass er will, dass da aber noch Verträge unterzeichnet werden müssen. Und die FIS hat da sicher auch n Wörtchen mitzureden

For the many ski jumping Fans who keep asking … sorry guys

We don't have an official Ski Jumping Team … FIS Officials have effectively banned us from competition… we are not even allowed to try and qualify in any FIS competition… this bans us from all world cups, european cups and the Olympic Games . The funny thing is .. we have not broken any laws or rules … its just the FIS think we are to popular and we take up to much of their TV and Media time… of course they want that only for sponsor purpose !!

Is it just me, or does he sound like a bitter, frustrated man more and more? On a personal mission/vendetta against the big bad FIS..

I think you can´t just come around and say you want to be a participant in Garmisch or at other competitions if there is no support or serious background.

He is not talking about Eddie.
James is still frustrated, that the FIS does not want to give him a FIS Licence, so that he might be able to compete in FIS cups, to collect points, to start in COC, to collect points and to start in the World Cup. Of course he will never earn COC points, but he thinks, he would...
And it's not just him, who is banned, but according to him, all jumpers from great britain. So if there woukd be young jumpers, they would not be able to compete. But to be honest, if there would be young and talented jumpers, who take the sport seriously, they would give them the FIS license.

So heywoodo, I think you are right. He is still frustrated. And he has his personal fight afainst the FIS. Last season, he hated against women skijumping, just because the girls have a FIS license and he not. He said, that he is at least as good als ALL the girls... Which is just laughable... Nothing else. He should just stick to the masters Skijumping...

I´m sorry, but who is James?

James lambert. British Skijumper. He wanted to take part in the world championships in Oslo. Something went wrong and he had to start in the nordic combined competition. But even there, he jumped way too short and the FIS decided, that it is too dangerous to let him start in the comp on the Holmenkollen. That leaded into a long and hard fight of James against the FIS. He still is angry and frustrated and has nothing else to do than to hate against the FIS

Okay, but I can understand the FIS in that way. Skijumping is dangerous and not like football or tennis. They have to take care when people think they are good enough for Skijumping but in fact it isn´t the reality.

Yes, the FIS was right to stop him. At least in my opinion, not in his.

By the way, I'm pretty curious now, so I sent a mail to the British Ski Federation, asking if they really are "effectively banned from any FIS competition", as James put it. I think I already know the answer though, but just want to be sure :zunge2:

James Lambert ist mal wieder etwas pissed :hihi:
Maximilian Elwes, britischer Skispringer, hat wohl ne FIS Lizenz bekommen. Er will wohl bei Olympia starten und hat laut James n Team an reichen Leuten hinter sich. James selbst sagt, er hat den Kerl noch nie springen sehen, man findet keine Ergebnisse und keine Videos.
Fakt ist aber, er steht bei der FIS tatsächlich als aktiv.
Olympia kann er natürlich trotzdem knicken, er hat noch nichtmal nen FisCup Punkt. Er wird also niemals bis Ende Januar, wenn die Frist ist, so viele FisCup/COC/Weltcup Punkte sammeln können, um noch zu Olympia zu kommen

Ich habe einen Bericht zu ihm gefunden. Darin steht, dass er sich vor drei Jahren das Bein gebrochen hat und nun den Anschluss sucht. 70 Meter weit springt er bereits. Nun hofft er auf eine Wildcard durch den Premierminister, um noch bei Olympia starten zu können häh.
Er spricht übrigens Deutsch und möchte mal sein eigenes Bier brauen.
