Disappointments in GranÄsen never ends. The hills have been closed all summer, and now it isnŽt even
certain that it will be ready for jumping before the winter season.
Sorry to say it, but the work takes too long time, and I doubt, therefore,
that the hills are ready to jump on before the summer season is over.
But we're working on it, and after a meeting with all involved on Tuesday night, I am more optimistic,
"said Morten Wolden, municipal president in Trondheim municipality.
Just not in Trondheim
For users of the hills in GranÄsen this is extremely bad news.
- Just incredible. There are skijumping hills over all over the world.
But here in Trondheim, they will not succeed. It's just hopeless.
Petter Tande stated the state of things in GranÄsen.
So bad has it been that he has considered giving up with combined.
The work on the slopes this year will be further delayed, he did not bother irritate him over anymore.
It is wasted energy.
Chooses Lillehammer
- But now I have nevertheless chosen to concentrate fully, "says Tande,
who has turned the national team back in favor of GranÄsen Skiteam.
He would then like to have the opportunity to train in GranÄsen.
Instead, once again putting himself in a car to visit Lillehammer,
where he encounters a modern facility with good facilities and framework in place.
- Ideally we should have moved to Lillehammer to hang with the top.
Commute is about to break us financially, "says Tande.
The enthusiasm disappears
He is supported by BjÞrn KÄre Ingebrigtsen, coach GranÄsen Skiteam and teacher at Heimdal vidergÄende.
- Sure, we notice that there is always a question mark GranÄsen. The enthusiasm is starting to disappear
along with the activity, and we counted fewer applicants for skilinja by Heimdal high school.
And it is no coincidence that today we can not find a single trĂžnder skijumper in the world elite in the jumps,
"said Ingebrigtsen, adding that the national team a few years ago largely consisted of trĂžnders.
Now only Bardal found a place worthy of the elite team.
Ingebrigtsen said Trondheim shows willingness to solve problems, but the ability is
unfortunately not present. Things are going too slow and much poor planning testify that GranÄsen is not
top priority at City Hall.
Municipal Director Morten Wolden agree criticism. During Tuesday's meeting with skiing and working
in the hills, it was shown an understanding of the issues from the sport side and at the same time
promise of the contractor that the work be accelerated so that it can be plastic jumping in the autumn.
Insufficient rehabilitation
- We have no more money to put in, but it is clear that the work can be intensified, "said municipal
director.
It is the third summer in succession that the skijumping hills in GranÄsen are closed. The first year the ground
is closed due to poor conditions. The hills had rehabilitated, a work that was started in the summer
of 2008 and completed the following year. However, parts of the work of renovation last year, was too
poor. And more snow, ice and landslides last November, it was so extensive injuries on the hills that
more maintenance work was needed. It started this summer, and hope was that the work should be completed
by 1 August. But alas, as was unfortunately not, and now it thus appears that the summer-season break for
trĂžndersk skijumpers and combined-runners.
