Tracy McGrady
Tracy McGrady told ESPN on Tuesday that he will miss the remainder of the season to undergo microfracture surgery on his left knee. This is a tough blow for the Rockets, but at least they have closure on what has been a season-long drama involving the health of T-Mac's knee.
Manu Ginobili
Manu Ginobili will not play on Tuesday against the Knicks due to soreness in his right ankle. This is not the same ankle that Ginobili had surgically repaired prior to the season, but nevertheless, he is having tests on Tuesday to determine the cause of pain he's been experiencing since prior to the All-Star break. Ginobili's status for games on Thursday and Saturday depends on the results of the tests and how much discomfort he's feeling.
Caron Butler
Wizards coach Ed Tapscott said he pulled Caron Butler from Tuesday's game for precautionary reasons after Butler fell on his right hip. Butler said his hip was sore, but didn't feel that the injury was anything serious. We should have an update on Wednesday afternoon, so check back soon.
Marreese Speights
Marreese Speights went scoreless in just two minutes on Tuesday. The Sixers TV crew reported that Speights tweaked his ankle at practice Monday, and he sat out the second half after picking up two early first half fouls. At this point he has to be considered a question mark for Wednesday's game against Denver, but hopefully more concrete info will be available before that game.
Mehmet Okur
Jazz center Mehmet Okur will not play on Tuesday because of the flu. He is questionable for Thursday's game
John Salmons
Kings swingman John Salmons is listed as day-to-day after missing Tuesday's practice with a sore lower back. An MRI was negative. "I really can't get (my back) loose and it was really bothering me in that last game against Houston (on Feb. 11)," Salmons said. The Kings play on Wednesday, then have back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday.
Chris Bosh
Chris Bosh (sore knee) is listed as day-to-day but has yet to take part in a full practice. The Toronto Star reports that "it'll be a miracle if he plays." Keep him sidelined if you have any alternatives, and hopefully we'll get a more positive report prior to Friday's game at New York.
Greg Oden
Greg Oden has been ruled out for Wednesday's game because of his injured left knee. This isn't a terribly surprising development, but it does mean Oden will play a maximum of two games this week. We should have more details soon, but for now he is questionable for Friday's game against the Hawks.
Andris Biedrins
Andris Biedrins (sprained ankle) will not play on Wednesday, his fourth consecutive DNP. He did some light shooting after watching Tuesday's practice, but the good news is the Warriors don't play again until Saturday. We should have multiple updates between now and then, so check back periodically.
Kelenna Azubuike
Kelenna Azubuike left Tuesday's practice with a limp after apparently aggravating his lingering left knee injury. It's almost futile to guess where Don Nelson will turn if Azubuike can't play on Wednesday, but our best guess is that either Corey Maggette or Anthony Randolph would slide into the starting lineup.
Marcus Camby
Clippers center Marcus Camby was sidelined for Tuesday's game by an inner ear infection. Camby missed the Clippers last game with a migraine headache, and it appears he can't catch a break. The Clippers play at home on Wednesday, so hopefully we'll have an update following shootaround.
Jeff Foster
Jeff Foster (back) did not play in Tuesday's win over the Sixers. The veteran center could return sometime this week.
Mike Dunleavy
Mike Dunleavy missed his third straight game Tuesday due to lingering soreness in his right knee. Dunleavy hasn't been definitively ruled out for Wednesday's matchup with Charlotte, but at this point we'd be surprised to see him play. The Pacers have said that this knee problems isn't as serious as the one that sidelined him for the first 34 games of the season, but it remains uncertain when he'll return.
Luke Ridnour :wall: Schlecht für Sessions ?
Bucks point guard Luke Ridnour is way ahead of schedule in his return from a broken right thumb and could return to action this week. Ridnour was seen hitting jumpers on Monday after breaking his thumb less than two weeks ago. "I think I'm way ahead of schedule," Ridnour said. "I'm just staying positive, trying to get ready and stay in shape. Hopefully, everything goes well these next couple days."
Jose Calderon
Jose Calderon will start Wednesday's game against the Cavaliers after missing the Raptors previous game to rest his ailing hamstring. While we're hopeful that his hamstring issue is permanently behind him, that's far from guaranteed. Just keep him active and hope for the best -- if you're pessimistic, go ahead and explore the trade market while he's apparently healthy.
Brian Skinner
Brian Skinner missed the Clippers game on Tuesday because of a sore Achilles tendon. Bad timing -- his services were desperately needed with both Marcus Camby (ear infection) and Zach Randolph (ejection) unavailable against Shaquille O'Neal and the Suns. They face the Suns again on Thursday, though Skinner's status is unclear.
Carl Landry
Rockets forward Carl Landry did not return to Tuesday's game after spraining his right ankle late in the first half. No word yet on the severity of the sprain, so we're calling him day-to-day until further notice.
