Den Link hier hat mir neulich wer geschickt...ich finde das trifft zum Teil auf Harri zu.

Blitzgescheit aber im Umgang mit dem täglichen Leben hat er so seine Probleme...

Oh da wär ich vorsichtig.
Mein Patenkind hat Asperger. Ich glaub nicht, dass das zutrifft auf Hapa.
Aber dazu kenn ich ihn zu schlecht um das was sagen zu können.
Hiochbegabt is er ja und wohl auch ADHS aber gleich auf Asperger zu schließen find ich bissl stark

Seh ich auch so. Allerdings aus Hochbegabung können u. a. Depressionen, ADHS und Ähnliches hervor gehen.

Asperger at adult can mean many very different things. Some can not live independently and from others one doesn't even notice something is different. But asperger is not very common among athletes, most asperger people tend to be clumsy and have not so good sensorimotor skills.

The fact is, its a kind of autism and it´s very difficult to diagnose it.

Yep. And anyway these are his private matters. Kykkänen surely had Harri's permission to tell as much as he told. Probably had his permission to hint things to Kupila also. But what ever it is, it's Harri's own business if he wants to come public with it. I would say, that only sure thing is, that everything is not okay and this time it seems not to be alcohol related.

Sorry, aber solche Diagnosen stellt man nicht durch Beobachten am TV, in den Medien und vielleicht mal an den Schanzen der Welt... Wenns so einfach wäre, dann bräuchten wir keine Psychologen mehr...
Dass er Prob leme irgendeiner Art hat ist augenscheinlich, aber was? ADS? Hochbegabt? Asperger? Essstörung? Alkoholprobleme? Depressionen? Bisschen viel für einen...
Oder vielleicht ist er doch einfach nur ein "Bad boy"?

Diese ganzen Spekulationen bringen wohl rein gar nix. Erst recht nicht in so nem Forum, wo viele Halbwahrheiten oder Vermutungen für bare Münze nehmen

I don't know how things are elsewhere but in Finland this is a matter that should be talked more in sports. Of course not by trashing one person but in general. That also athletes may have mental problems is one of the big taboos in Finnish sport (that there are also male gay athletes is another.)

We have many sorrowful tales about former athletes whose life have went to chaos after career. More than enough suicides few years after career ends etc. We have one ice hockey player, who disappeared due to "back problems" or something, came back and few years later told publicly that he had had a clinical depression, had been hospitalized for two months, thought of suicide etc. And even if you google that guys name, nothing about this is mentioned anywhere. Only some mentions how his mental side is the risk for good performance.

Big, big, harmful taboo.

There was a big discussion in Germany about people having mental problems and depressions after the goalkeeper of our national football team killed himself in November 2009.

He has had depressions for a long time too.

But now, no one is talking about this anymore...

Mögt ihr diskutieren, natürlich. Nur sollte man immer vorsichtig sein mit sowas, wie Blackswan schon sagte

@Marre: Yes, mental problems are a taboo-theme not even in the sports world but everywhere. But I don't know if it's helpful to talk about Harri like that... 10 posts, 10 other diagnostics. Nobody of us knows, if Harri has mental problems and if he has, what there problems are.
I think it's just a little bit "dangerous" to talk about possible problems in a forum like that, where lots of people take it for serious.
