Der Orlando Topic wird ja langsam zum Smack...
Blow out Sieg gegen die Hawks!
Was hat sich geändert...? Hmmmm...
Redick startet! :thumb:
I want the old Stan back, how about you? Please, give us back our beloved Stan Van Grumpy and take away this imposter known as Stan Van Giddy. Give us the Stan Van Gundy who was the nattering nabob of negativity; not this pandering prince of positivity who has watched the Magic turn into the most erratic Jekyll and Hyde team in the NBA.
I don't care that the Magic ended their four-game losing streak Saturday night with a resounding 113-81 blowout victory over the Atlanta Hawks. One impressive win does not make up for the inexplicable inconsistency displayed since that Christmas day fiasco against the Celtics.
In fact, Saturday's rout provides even more proof that these guys are complacent and will only muster energy and effort when the mood strikes them. Yes, it's good to know they can actually beat a good team.
Now, if they can just figure out how to beat the bad ones.
Warum nicht immer so?
Dwight wieder ganze 7 Würfe?!
After being mauled by the Blazers Friday night, Orlando guard-forward Matt Barnes was cursing up a blue streak in the Orlando locker room to a couple of Magic beat reporters. It was almost soul searching. Barnes' tone was hushed, but it didn't hide his absolute disgust. He was unguarded and shockingly honest--rare qualities in an NBA locker room.
Barnes made his way out. Referring to his comments, one reporter leaned to the other and pointed towards Dwight Howard, who was dressing at the pace of a two-toed sloth. "He should be saying that," the reporter whispered.
Something I forgot--in the Magic locker room, Dwight Howard could not help himself from joking around with one of the Blazers' young attendants. The kid, who looks awfully young despite his mustache, took a continuous--albiet good natured--ribbing from Dwight for looking like Martin Lawrence. "Martiiiin," Dwight kept calling out. "Yo," he'd yell across the room. "Doesn't this little dude look like Martin?!"
It might seem off track, as most of the Magic players were sulking in the loss. But it also showed off Dwight's good humor and striking charisma.
"It's like we are going through the motions," he said. "Just because you went to the Finals last year, you can't go out on the floor and expect teams to lay down. We got no heart. You can only make so many excuses. Everybody has to come and play hard, not just one or two guys.
"It's effort. Every game we're being outworked on both ends. We have to get ourselves going and it starts with me being the leader. I have to get myself going. We're all frustrated with the way we're playing. But we can't play well when we're frustrated. We got to play free. If I'm frustrated, it falls on the rest of my teammates. It has an effect on the whole team."
