The Irish is going do a list.
The Elite:
1. Patrick Mahomes
I said I think Joe Burrow is better and while he's still leading the series 3-1 while having the worse supporting cast in all 4 games Mahomes really amazed me in that Championship Game but he realy painted his Masterpiece on 1 1/2 feet in the Super Bowl. Sein Talent stand nie in Frage und man kann dass nicht oft genug sagen er ist was die Mischung aus athletischen und arm talent, leadership qualities, coachability, toughness angeht der mit Abstand Kompleteste Spieler den es jemals gab. He now won 2 Super Bowls, 2 Super Bowl MVPs, 2 League MVPs and you could argue this was the year to stop them. What of all those things amazes me the most is that I really feel like this year his ability to read defenses improved really improved, not that it was bad in the years before.
2. Joe Burrow
While not as talented and as flashy as Mahomes I think his ability to read defenses, to throw into tight windows and to make plays when needed are still superior to Mahomes but it's close and Mahomes is way more talented.
3. Trevor Lawrence
Statistically the last 9 weeks of the regular Season Trevor Lawrence was the best QB in football, to me he answered all the questions, took the Jags to the Playoff lead an amazing come back win and made the Chiefs work for their money. Watch Lawrence improve even more in his 2nd year under Doug Pederson.
4. Jalen Hurts
Early in the Season someone asked me if I think Hurts has the potential to be a Top 10 QB I said I don't know I have a lot of questions and very little answers.
Atleast to me that Super Bowl answered almost all of them. After that game I think I have to put him in the Top 5.
5. Josh Allen
I really like Josh Allen, the truth is when it comes to athleticism and arm talent he might be more talented than anyone else on this list. But boy this puppy is regressing fast since Daboll left. Josh Allen has officially been moved to the demotion zone.
Franchise QBs:
6. Justin Herbert
I thought about putting him at 5. but I didn't think I could pull it off. Herbert is as talented as all of those guys. I think he has really bad luck with his HC and the Chargers Organisation but with very little achievement I felt I could not put him in front of Allen. It seems however he got a break. Because while Josh Allen lost Brian Daboll and since has clearly regressed Herbert found Kellen Moore and might be off to good things. But this stroke of luck can also become a curse. He's destined to having a great season with Kellen Moore but the flip side is he'll better have a great season.
7. Matthew Stafford
I know I know and to make this clear I think it's very close.
But just ask yourselves if you need a QB for the next season would you pick Stafford or Rodgers?
The Rams had like 15 different OL Combinations, and lots of other Problems. I think Stafford has more left in the tank and most importantly is more commited.
8. Aaron Rodgers
Rodgers was Patrick Mahomes before Patrick Mahomes. He was the most talented QB who presented the complete package for the better part of a decade. While Brady was the GOAT and the most successful. Rodgers always was the prototype, the gold standard. And for being the prototype for the better part of a decade coming away with one Super Bowl that's not exactly great. Yes winning a Super Bowl is hard, but the Packers always have been a reasonable well run organisation with at least a Top 8 Top 10 roster most of the years.
Star QBs:
9. Lamar Jackson
Yes I have concerns, the thing that concerns me most about Lamar is that he increasingly gets injured. But he is the fasted and most dynamic QB in NFL history, he off all QBs on this list is the hardest to prepare for, many parts of his game that where flawed got better since he entered the league. And he sure won a lot of games. I have lot's of concerns but to deny he's a Top 10 QB would be crazy.
10. Jared Goff
Ohhhh I know controversial but Goff was outstanding the 2nd half of the Season since week 10 8-2 record 17 TDs 1 pick. Yes he has a very good OL I'm taking that into account, good OL, good OC 2 good running backs but still who didn't think Goff was finished without McVay. He just beat Aaron Rodgers in Lambeau and outplayed him. Who else would it be? DeShaun Watson? Russell Wilson? Kyler Murray, Tua Tagovaiola? would you've picked them over Jared Goff today?
