Thema Diop vs. Erika
Dampier Watches Diop Do It All
Dallas Morning News - 11/16 - 1:43 AM EST
Erick Dampier had probably his worst game in a Mavericks uniform Tuesday night, which is saying a lot.
It looked even worse when his backup came into the game and sparked the Mavericks to a come-from-behind victory over Denver.
Dampier could not stay out of foul trouble, had no points, no rebounds, no assists, no blocks, four fouls and four turnovers. He played 10 minutes, 39 seconds.
DeSagana Diop, meanwhile, had 16 rebounds and six blocks, including the one that saved the game.
"I'm looking for a certain type of competitive spirit and intensity," coach Avery Johnson said. "It's been fairly consistent for him [Diop]. To see guys who really love their job and playing with fire like that ... I guess he's trying to earn my trust."
Fire, spirit, intensity. None of those words fit for Dampier.

Sieht also eher schlecht aus für Erika. Bald muss er die Tasche von Diop tragen.... :laugh2:
Und noch ein Artikel:
Talk about DeSagana Diop’s play tonight?
He played unbelievable tonight. He came in tonight and didn’t even worry about scoring. He comes in and sets good picks and just plays all-out-defense for us and rebounded great tonight. He was a monster tonight, and he’s been doing it all year for us. As long as he continues do that and continues to clog up the middle for us, he’ll do good things for us.
Mavericks Center DeSagana Diop
Talk about your career highs in blocks and rebounds tonight?
I played a lot of minutes tonight and that always helps. I think I had career minutes tonight also. It’s a great feeling. I just need to keep doing it though. I need to keep working hard and give a lot of effort. Without playing the minutes, you’ll never be able to build confidence. I never had that in Cleveland, but I’m in a lot better shape now and that helped a lot. I’m thankful we got this win.” How high is your confidence right now?
It’s the highest it’s been since I’ve been in the league. I just need to get better and keep working on my game. This is the most fun I’ve had and being on the floor when the games on the line is great.” Talk about that last play on Carmelo?
I knew he was not going to pass it. When he gets that far under, he’s going to shoot every time. I was just ready and Dirk going down really helped me a lot.”
:thumb:
