Injury List

Charlie Villanueva is listed as doubtful for Wednesday's game with an elbow injury.

It doesn't sound very good on CV for the rest of the week, but we still haven't gotten the full story on his injury.

Charlie Villanueva has been ruled out for Wednesday's game with a left elbow strain.

Brian Skinner is likely to start in his place, while CV is day-to-day.

btw: Troy Murphy, still dealing with a sore left Achilles', did not practice on Wednesday.

His status for Thursday will be a game-time decision.

Shaquille O'Neal, who has missed the past three games, is now dealing with quadriceps muscle weakening.

This condition is often associated with knee injuries. Shaq said he's hoping to be back in the lineup on Friday, but it's hard to imagine he'll be fully effective. His owners must be getting a little frustrated by now.

Charlie Villanueva was not with the team Wednesday night in New Jersey as he travelled back to Milwaukee to have his elbow examined.

Team doctors will be examining him, and Charlie V's return is still uncertain. In the meantime, Brian Skinner will continue to start.

Nenad Krstic, who bruised his knee earlier in the week, will have an MRI on Thursday.

"I need to have a MRI but I think everything is okay. I played and nothing was swelling," said Krstic. This is just a precaution, so don't fear the worst. Krstic has been on fire lately, scoring at least 20 points in three straight games for the first time in his career.

Tyson Chandler will fly to Minneapolis to rejoin the Hornets on Thursday.

Coach Scott said he'll see how Chandler does at practice on Friday before deciding whether his starting center will play on Saturday.

Kevin O'Connor, Utah's senior vice president of basketball operations, says that both Andrei Kirilenko and Gordon Giricek are making progress, but neither player travelled with the team to Seattle for Friday's game.

O'Conner also said it's unlikely either would play in Saturday's game against Phoenix but that they each would be evaluated on a daily basis when the team returns from the road trip.

Josh Childress, suffering from a sore foot, missed practice on Wednesday.

He's expected to play on Saturday. Lorenzan Wright also missed practice Wednesday, as his wife was giving birth to the couple's sixth child.
