Injury Update for Carlos Boozer
SALT LAKE CITY (January 31, 2007) – The Utah Jazz announced today that a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and additional x-rays revealed a hairline fracture in Carlos Boozer’s left fibula head. Jazz physician Dr. Lyle Mason treated Boozer and identified the hairline fracture, which was then confirmed by a second opinion. Injuries of this nature typically take four to five weeks to fully heal.
The injury was suffered at the 8:11 mark of the first quarter of Saturday night’s game at the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets in Oklahoma City.

Heat center Shaquille O'Neal was back on the inactive list Tuesday with a strained left calf, but the injury doesn't sound too serious right now.
O'Neal sustained the injury during Monday's practice and coach Ron Rothstein said that he did not require an MRI, which is good news. The injury is just below the knee that required surgery on Nov. 19 to repair torn cartilage, and O'Neal is listed as day-to-day.

Jazz physician Dr. Lyle Mason treated Boozer and identified the hairline fracture, which was then confirmed by a second opinion. This is obviously terrible news for Boozer, the Jazz and his fantasy owners. If you can pick up Paul Millsap in your league, by all means do so immediately.
