Nach dem Finale ist jetzt Buyout-Season ... McKenzie gibt einen Überblick:
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
By my estimates, as many as 18 NHL teams NOT likely to partake in compliance buyouts. Other 12 range from "for sure" to "thinking about it". MTL (Gomez/Kaberle) and PHI (Briere/Bryzgalov) are for sures. NYI haven't committed on DiPietro but one would think it's likely. Komisarek seems a given in TOR. I'd be shocked if CHI doesn't buy out Olesz and Montador. Colaiacovo is a possibility in DET. I am led to believe EDM will NOT buy out Horcoff but Belanger and Eager are buyout considerations for the Oilers. EDM not buying out Horcoff would suggest they may be able to include him in a trade to a team that would then possibly buy him out. The really BIG buyout questions that, for now, remain unanswered: Brad Richards with NYR and Vinny Lecavalier with TB. Keith Ballard is a possibility in VAN, I wonder about Malone in TB and Liles in TOR. We'll see soon enough. Even teams that have no plans to buy out are hedging a bit to see what trades happen that may affect their cap. Such as MIN, BUF etc. Following teams, IMO, not likely to buy out: ANA, BOS, BUF, CGY, CAR, COL, CBJ, DAL, FLA, LA, MIN, NJ, NSH, OTT, PHX, SJ, STL, WSH, WPG. And finally, remember, you can't buy out an injured player. But you can utilize a compliance buyout (limit of 2 total per team) next year.
