Judges evaluate four primary criteria in order of importance during each round:
Clean and Effective Punching (Primary Factor): Judges look for the number of hard, clean punches landing flush on legal target areas (the front/sides of the head and body above the belt) rather than blocked, grazed, or sluffed shots.
Effective Aggression: Pressing forward or throwing a high volume of punches only scores if those attacks actually land and damage or trouble the opponent, rather than getting countered.
Ring Generalship: Controlling the pace, dictating where the fight takes place in the ring, and forcing the opponent to adapt to your style.
Defense: How well a boxer slips, parries, blocks, and avoids incoming punches while countering effectivel
