Harrison Barnes [North Carolina]
Barnes takes on a bit of a messiah role with Carolina's future very much in the balance. With questions at the point, a sudden lack of depth inside [...], Barnes, who is very good at everything but not a killer as a scorer, will be a fun watch on Tobacco Road.
Cameron Clark [Oklahoma]
A silky smooth forward with a ton of game, [...] Clarke has a nasty crossover and a solid midrange game going right or left. His big issue is his range. Clarke is a legit 6-foot-6 and super skilled and should be fun to watch with the new-look Sooners.
Allen Crabbe [California]
Crabbe is an outstanding shooter and an above-average athlete. [...] Many in the AAU circuit believe that if Crabbe had signed with a more traditional power, he would have been a McDonald's All American.
Tobias Harris [Tennessee]
Harris, who handles, shoots and is terrific at changing ends, gives Pearl and the Vols nation their own gem to admire, if only for one season.
Kyrie Irving [Duke]
Jon Scheyer was everything he was billed as coming from Chicago as a former state champion, but he did not have the extra gear that Irving has. While Duke changed its level of offensive and defensive aggression to fit the team's athletic acumen this past season, all that changes with KI at the point. [...] Irving will be called on to break down his man and set up Kyle Singler, Nolan Smith and Seth Curry.
Perry Jones [Baylor]
Jones, a 6-11 Kevin Garnett clone who has a decent post-up game and a next level pick-and-pop jumper, is coming to town. While Texas continues to reload with talent, Baylor has a returning star (LaceDarius Dunn) and Jones. The Bears were the best team in the Big 12 South the entire year while beating the Horns three times.
Brandon Knight [Kentucky]
While UK fans know the John Calipari lineage -- Rose, Evans, Wall and now Knight -- let it be said that Knight is different from his predecessors who played for Coach Cal. Like Evans, he is not really a point guard, but unlike any of the other three, he is a major league midrange scorer who can step out and shoot the 3, though he need to be steadier with it.
Renardo Sidney [Mississippi State]
While he was supposed to be a freshman last season, and he will still have some games to miss in Year 2, Sidney, if he is in shape, should be worth the wait (and weight). Sidney is a vastly talented 6-foot-10 power forward who can flat-out score in the low post.
Jared Sullinger [Ohio State]
OSU welcomes Sully, a big man who plays like a big man down at the block. Sullinger has a Hansbrough-like work ethic, with longer arms and a big frame. While he might not be as tall as listed (6-8), he simply dominates by playing like an NBA vet with a complete arsenal of low-post moves.
Tristan Thompson [Texas]
Thompson is not the shooter that Durant was, but has a better body and handle. And when he puts in the effort, Thompson is a really active rebounder and defender. The problem with him has been consistency and his deep jumper. If both improve, Barnes has another one-and-done on his hands.
Dion Waiters [Syracuse]
Waiters can seemingly get to the paint whenever he wants, uses a ball screen well, and is a dominant scorer without taking terrible shots. [...] Waiters is the guy that Jim Boeheim most expects to have an immediate impact.
