Quin Snyder:
Quin: I have a ton of respect for what the players accomplished as a group. You saw a lot of growth in the group as well
Quin : Hopeful we would finish the season on a more upbeat note. But I think there are a lot of things for us to look at & feel good about.
Quin,"One area that I feel like we can have a marked improvement is on the def end late in games."
Quin: We have to be able to close games better on both ends on the floor
Dennis Lindsey
Dennis Lindsey: There wasn't one person that's not upset that we're not playing in a second season
Dennis Lindsey: Some of the criticism of his roster construction is "fair."
Dennis Lindsey said he may use draft picks to attain a veteran, if opportunity arises
DL: two deals proposed to him to acquire a veteran involving giving up a draft pick for short-term help. He said yes, but deals fell apart.
Dennis Lindsey said ball security is a key to making the next step on the floor
DL says Exum's "checkups have been very positive" & he'll likely start contact practice in early June. Will have Olympic conversation then.
Dennis Lindsey didn't rule out Dante Exum playing in the Olympics. Said they will have the conversation in early summer
Dennis: No question Trey wants to have a larger role, he's handled everything very well
I could be wrong, but reading between the lines it doesn't sound like the Jazz are planning on bringing Trevor Booker back
Gordon Hayward
Gordon hayward said becoming a better shooter and being a better ballhandler are going to be two areas of focus for him
Hayward said the injuries this year - particularly the timing - was frustrating
Hayward: This offseason is going to be important for all of us
Gordon Hayward on another early exit: "Obviously disappointed. We came into the season with a lot of expectations of making the playoffs."
Derrick Favors
Favors on himself and Hayward: "Our leadership improved a lot this season."
Favors on missing playoffs: "heartbreaking ... We let a couple games go that we probably could have won." Jazz "learned what it takes."
Favors had an MRI on his sore knee...it showed no structural damage
Joe Ingles
Joe Ingles on Kobe's epic night: "I’ll probably be in some of his highlights for the rest of my life. I’ll show them to my kids someday."
Ingles laughs a "thanks," when he's asked about guarding Kobe last night. Then says, "i think [50 shots is] more than i’ve shot all season."
Joe Ingles described Jazz as being almost as close-knit as the Australian National Team. He's definitely planning to play in Olympics.
Rudy Gobert
Rudy Gobert says he hasn't made a decision about playing for France during qualification, but he wants to participate in the Olympics.
"I think that every team that played us, respected us"
Shelvin Mack
Shelvin Mack wants to work on catch-and-shoot, with Hayward and Hood handling the ball so much, compared with PG role in Atlanta.
Trey Burke
Trey Burke said he's proud of how he handled his demotion. "If I'm here, great; if I'm somewhere else, it's been great."
Burke said Quin Snyder was always up front and honest with him. Mack was "his guy," Burke said.
Trey Burke: "I know if I do go somewhere else I’m going to make the most of it. If I stay here, I’m going to keep fighting."
Alec Burks
Alec Burks on whether Paul Pierce reached out to him after his injury: He doesn't have to say anything to me. It's just more motivation
Alec Burks said he's happy to have come back for few games at end of the season, but realized he was not himself, playing at game speed
Dante Exum
Exum said he's fully cleared for everything except contact. Can sprint, and do everything else
Dante Exum on Olympics: "I wouldn't do it unless I'm 100 percent confident in myself."
Exum says he's unlikely to play with Jazz in summer league, so any game competition would be Olympic preparation.
Exum said he found hope in Jabari Parker's successful recovery from a knee injury.
Tibor Pleiss
"I really improved my basketball skills"
"I came to play for the team here. I didn't come here to play for the D-League team."---Tibor Pleiss
Rodney Hood
Rodney Hood said people around the NBA know the Jazz are going to be "one of the powerhouses in the West for years to come."
Trevor Booker
Trevor Booker on Trey Lyles: "He’s going to be a special player, especially offensively. ... I can easily see him be an All-Star one day."
Trevor Booker, a free agent this offseason: "I would definitely love to stay. I know it’s a business. I'm not sure it’s going to happen."
Trey Lyles
Trey Lyles: I don't want to compare myself to anyone because I don't want to put a limit on myself.
