Former undisputed heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis said he is going to stay retired and will not fight a rematch with current champion Vitali Klitschko. In a Fightnews exclusive Lewis says he is enjoying retirement and will not be lured back into the ring for a huge payday against the Ukranian. "They want me to come back. I'm not coming back. Right now, whoever's at the top needs me to spice up the division," he said. Klitschko, he feels has yet to have a defining moment and needs to step it up. "He has to really assert himself."
Next month at Madison Square Garden Lewis' last opponent, Klitschko and the last man to beat Lewis, Hasim Rahman, will fight one another in a 12-round battle for Klitschko's WBC belt. Perhaps no one is more qualified to pick a winner in the bout than Lewis. "Good fight. Rahman definitely wants to be champ. Evidently he's been training very hard. I like Rahman in the fight. Klitschko's very awkward."
But for now the accessible Brit has no plans to return to the ring. If he stays retired he would join only Gene Tunney and Rocky Marciano as the only heavyweight champions to retire while still holding their belts. "Boxing's definitely in my blood. If there was a reason, there would have to be a reason for me to come back." But retirement's "good, good. I'm just enjoying fatherhood. I just had a son and am taking care of the future champion."

Fightnews caught up with Lewis at the Yuri Foreman fight on Thursday night at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. "These are the fights they need to have," he said. It was unusual for Lewis to be at such a fight since there were no big names on the card, not to mention the fact that Lewis doesn't even live in the United States let alone New York. Still he says he frequently visits the States though he wouldn't say how many times specifically in an effort "to avoid the tax man."

Heute wurde Vitali und Wladimir, in der Hauptstadt der Ukraine in Kiev, im Festsaal eines Kiever Nobelhotels ein besonderer Preis für ihr außergewöhnlich großes Engagement an der „Orangen Revolution“ verliehen.
Dieser Preis wurde vom Vorsitzenden des Revolutionsrates der „Orangen Revolution“ vom 27. November 2004 auf dem Platz der Freiheit in Kiev gestiftet.
Er wird offiziell am 3. März in New York, im Rahmen der Zeremonie „Personen des Jahres“, an unsere beiden Helden, Vitali und Wladimir, übergeben werden. Diese Veranstaltung wird vom Ukrainischen Institute von Amerika organisiert werden.

Klitschko - Rahman not off, Byrd - Klitshcko a bust
The proposed April 16th battle between Wladimir Klitshcko and IBF heavyweight champion Chris Byrd is officially off according to promoter Don King.
Don King, in a last ditch effort to save the fight, offered Chris Byrd $3.5 million dollars to seal the deal. Chris Byrd was still not sold and balked at the offer. Byrd is still unhappy with having to fight Klitschko in Germany and is disputing that he is responsible for covering a $250,000 fee to his co-promoter Fight Night. Chris Byrd is claiming that Don King is contracted to pay the $250K fee to Fight Night, King says that Byrd is responsible for the fee.
King is steamed over the proposed fight falling apart and said that Byrd will not earn anywhere near the $3.5 million dollar amount to fight any other heavyweight contender on United States soil.
The camp of Wladmir Klitshcko was also upset with the news and issued a comment regarding the situation. "Byrd is scared to fight Wladimir. Chris Byrd said Wladimir is shot fighter with a weak chin, but he is afraid to fight him."
The Klitschko camp said that despite rumors, the April 30th Madison Square Garden bout between WBC champion Vitali Klitschko and number 1 contender Hasim Rahman is not off. Don King held a meeting with Rahman's manager James Prince to work out the final details. Rahman has still not signed the contract for the fight because ...

Was war nochmal Waldis erste Aktion im Pulev Kampf? Klammern!
Nur weil Pulev genauso dreckig boxte heisst das nicht das Waldi in diesem Kampf sauber boxte.
Und seit wann gilt Infight eigentlich als unsauber wenn der Gegner nur hält und clincht? Soweit ich weiß ist Schlagen auch in dieser Distanz nicht verboten. Außer.. ich vergaß.. auf K2 Veranstaltungen.
