Houston Claims Brunson Off Waivers
3rd March, 2006 - 12:12 am
LA Times - The Houston Rockets claimed guard Rick Brunson off waivers from the Seattle SuperSonics on Thursday.
Brunson, waived by Seattle on Feb. 28, has missed 48 games this season because of plantar fasciitis in his left foot. In four games, he averaged 2.5 points.
Brunson has averaged 3.3 points, 2.7 assists and 1.4 rebounds in nine NBA seasons.
Jim Jackson Could Join The Lakers
3rd March, 2006 - 9:07 am
OC Register - Jim Jackson, just cut by Phoenix, wanted to play for the Lakers in 2002, settling instead for Sacramento. Penny Hardaway, Jon Barry and Rick Brunson are other options, albeit with health concerns, too.
Jackson said if McKie could be counted on, then the Lakers "wouldn't be as concerned as we are looking ahead to having to go through the rest of the season and the playoffs with this really young guard crew."
Nuggets Likely To Sign Eisley
3rd March, 2006 - 9:35 am
Denver Post - The Denver Nuggets are likely to sign Howard Eisley to a 10-day contract on Friday.
"I feel good about the situation," Eisley said. "They've made a couple of deals I think that's helped improve their team."
Eisley averaged 0.7 points in 13 games with the Los Angeles Clippers , who released him in January. For his career, he has averaged 6.6 points and made 35.1 percent of his 3-point attempts.
"He fills a dual role of a third point guard and a perimeter shooter who's had experience in two NBA Finals and as much playoff experience as anyone on the team," said agent Dan Fegan, who now represents five Nuggets.
