@mk23: if you want, write in english, its easier to read , than this bad translated german
I wish someone said that earlier. :schaem:
My previous post includes the part of interview with Wolfgang Loitzl, who says that he was watching the entire 4 Nations Tournament on television - and the jumps were simply not as interesting as before and they lacked - guess what - emotions.
And if I come to Planica next season again (which I seriously doubt it), how the hell would I be able to see if a jumper had 0.5 or 0.8 m/s backwind and yet this would be decisive for the score. How the hell should I do all the gate deductions / bonuses if there would be 5 gate changes in 5 minutes, like in Zakopane?
I can understand why athletes are in favor of new rules - their objective remains completely the same - jump as good as you can - and this is probably more fair. But the FIS faces extremely difficult decision. Naturally, you would think that they should decide in what is the best interest of athletes. But then, if nobody will be watching them, what is the point of them jumping anyway?
To conclude, if I am not able to judge the athlete's performance based on only thing I could actually see (distance), then why should I watch them jumping anyway? I could just follow what is going on on FIS Livescore.
I just hope that some of you agree with me.
