SCHIFFBAUER KNOCKS OUT ALGAVO
On the road to the world middleweight title, Wolfgang Schiffbauer, Jr. knocked Lopez Algavo (7-8-2) brutally out in their rematch last night at the Estrel Convention Center in Berlin, Germany. Schiffbauer, who is now 4-0 with 2 Ko's, is the first and probably only man to knock Algavo out. At the post-fight press conference, Algavo announced his retirement. Schiffbauer, who was stunned often in their first fight, counters Algavo from the beginning of the fight. Algavo was stunned for the first time by a quick hook to the stomach in round 4. Algavo was looking to knock Schiffbauer out with one punch, but in round 5 he went down for the first time in the fight. A left uppercut sends him down but he gets up at the count of eight. At the start of round 6 he went down again by a wicked right cross. Algavo showed heart and gets up again. A powefull haymaker in round 7 breaks Algavo's heart: Algavo was down for the third time in the fight and didn't get up. For the first time in his carrer he was knocked out. Schiffbauer was leading an all three Scorecards with 60-50 at the time of the knock out.
