Now, with one day to go until the draft, I thought it would be time to get my feelings out here about this disgrace we call our franchise.
When I woke up today I read the headline that Larry Brown wanted to waive Marbury, Francis, James, Rose and Taylor. I didn't even bother to read the article but I was just shaking my head. How many of us were asking for that?! How many of us were hoping that the franchise realizes it's mistakes from the past and takes the team into a new era with guys like Channing Frye being the face of the organization?! Well, there were plenty...
I mean asking for that is totally unrealistic but atleast taking their power or trading them would have been a possibility. But Dolan made the most horrible move you can imagine. People, we have to realize that this league isn't about circus, ego or show even though David Stern would love it to be that way. The successful teams - Miami, Detroit, Dallas, San Antonio, Phoenix - they care about team play, about character, about playing the right way.
There are plenty of other teams who can match the talent level of these groups but because of their stupidness and wrong identity on the basketball court will never reach the next level. Larry Brown, and I tell you that I hate this guy after last season, was our best chance to form a team with young and hungry players who would just have the right identitity and philosophy of basketball. It's about the mindset.
Yet we fire him. I don't know what exactly happened behind the scenes, nobody knows it of us. All I know is that numerous people have hurt this franchise in a way that it will last quite a time. There's Larry Brown who constantly talked smack in the media and "didn't do his best coaching job". He was a primadonna just like his players.
Then there was Stephon Marbury. I was a big supporter of him before the season but after being a jackass once again I lost almost every hope for him. His stupid "I love NY comments" don't count anymore. This is only to get the fans on his side after LB is gone. We either see actions or he should be gone...
Isiah Thomas is the next one to blame. When his players and the coach were fighting in the media, what did he do?! Nothing, hiding somewhere and not commenting. We always hear rumors about the Knicks and what is Isiah doing?! Flying around Europe...
Dolan... well, what can I say. I hate Marc Cuban with a passion but atleast he cares about winning, knows the sport and does a little more for the team than just opening the pockets.
Plenty of others deserve to be ripped off a few million of their salary from last season - a Francis who chooses not to play hard, a Jerome James and so on and so on. But now we have to look into the future.
And this future looks dark. We may win more game sunder Isiah, we may even make the playoffs but at what price?! Many of our players stand for what I judge as the most disgusting form of basketball - selfish, showboating, lazy and passionless play. Now we got talent and all that crap.
I don't care. We have plenty of good kids, character guys, why can't we just play this card, add two nice rookies to the pack and start from the scratch.
I will hope for Knicks wins next season sure, I always does. But I don't expect anything. I hate Isiah, I hate Dolan and I hate all these other clwons for what they did to our franchise, to my franchise. The team that I grew up loving has become a joke all around the sports world. And we can't be upset about Hollinger or other .... joking about the Knicks. Isiah and company deserve it.
Let alone all the past and all the future that this team may have. Let alone choosing sides between LB and the others or Isiah. Think for a second what this group has done to the organization and our beloved Knicks...
... and then go ahead and throw up!
