Tua, Mesi, Williams top Utah PPV!

Heavyweight David “Tua Man” Tua continues his climb back into contention in the heavyweight division on August 18th at the South Town Exhibition Center in Sandy, Utah as he takes on Saul Montana in a ten round main event. Tua (47-3-1, 40 KOs) is famous for his powerful left hook which has stopped many an opponent.
A KO percentage of over 80% is one of the highest in the fight game today, and his list of victims which includes Obed Sullivan, Fres Oquendo and former world champions Hasim Rahman, Oleg Maskaev, Michael Moorer and John Ruiz. His only three losses were twelve-round decisions to Lennox Lewis, Chris Byrd, and Ike Ibeabuchi.
While his list of opponents doesn’t quite rival Tua’s, Montana, ( 48-14, 42 KOs) is also a power punching machine . The fight will be presented by Ritch Danner’s “Pinnacle Fight Night” promotions along with Bob Oleson’s CAM promotions, and will be available on PPV for $ 29.99.
The semi main event features Joe Mesi, (35-0, 28 KOs ) against Sherman “Tank” Williams (33-10-2, 19 KOs) in a 10 rounder. “Baby Joe” will be stepping into the ring with his most dangerous opponent since his reinstatement following a two-year medical layoff. All questions concerning Mesi should be answered after this bout against the very capable Williams.
The third comebacking fighter on the card is Jeremy Williams (41-5-1, 35 KOs) in an 8 rounder in the cruiserweight division against Utah’s Gary Gomez (19-8-1, 7 KOs). Word is Williams is in the best shape of his life having taken a two-year hiatus to work as a trainer in the Contender series.
The undercard is shaping up well with Roman Greenberg (25-0, 12 KOs) and a host of local talent. Tickets for the event may be purchased at all Smith Tix outlets and the Convention Center box office.
