http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/confirmed-man-united-make-astonishing-110m-double-bidIt was only an hour ago we covered claims from Spain's Cadena Cope that Manchester United had asked Real Madrid about the prospect of signing both Gareth Bale and Raphael Varane. That claim has been absolutely trumped by Cuatro TV in Spain who say Manchester United have gone further and put a double bid on the table. The Premier League club have firmed up their interest with the bid and whilst the Spanish sources confirm the bid was put on the table, they say it was rejected. Cuatro reckon they've got the information from someone at Real Madrid, that's their confirmation, but in their video segment they made a great deal out of Real Madrid saying NO. A repeated stream of graphics saying NO was used as part of the video, just to ram the point home.
Covered by Mundo Deportivo, the double bid is put at a huge €150m for the French defender and flying Welshman. That figure converts to £110m and would represent one of the biggest transfer shocks in football history. Manchester United would be solving two areas of their pitch in one go and Edward Woodward would have himself something of a coup.
The claims in Spain say that Manchester United's offer has been turned down, despite how big it is. David De Gea is brought into the situation and it's claimed that whilst Manchester United are being stubborn about selling the goalkeeper to Real Madrid, they've brought up the prospect of the huge double deal, which sounds like quite a good tactic. The reports on this again state Real Madrid don't want to sell but they reckon that a tug of war between Manchester United and the Spanish club could be a theme of the summer.
http://www.manchestereveningnews.co...anchester-united-transfer-news-lloris-9409511But Lloris, who joined Tottenham from Lyon in 2012, has hinted he would be open to a move to Old Trafford if it meant playing in the Champions League.
He said: "I think every player wants to play this competition because it’s a high level and we work for that, we work every day for that and I hope to get there and there’s a chance in my career to play Champions League. For the moment there is a goalkeeper at United and we are watchful of his situation. You have to keep a certain calm with all this. If things should happen then they’ll happen naturally."
