(…) When the replay of the intentional butt by Miranda was played it clearly showed that it was intentional. Abraham's jaw had already been injured and he was in agony. Then he receives this butt higher on the head. Upon seeing the intentional foul, Neuman's methods of stopping the bout to permit recovery time, was not executed the way it is supposed to be done.
All Miranda had to do to avoid all of this agony and get his ass to a hospital was once INTENTIONALLY butted, continue to make it clear which he did that his head HURT HIM UP HIGH AWAY FROM HIS JAW FROM THAT BUTT, he did so YET a very unclear method of calling time was used by Neuman.
This is all Abraham had to do: "I cannot continue because I am disoriented from the intentional headbutt, my jaw hurts I admit, but I can fight on with my jaw but not this higher head injury. My head hurts on top, where he cracked me with his skull." Now if at the end of a 5 minute respite, he cannot continue, MIRANDA IS DQ'D BECAUSE THE INJURED FIGHTER CANNOT CONTINUE FROM AN INTENTIONAL FOUL WHICH CAUSED AN INJURY INSIDE HIS HEAD, SEPARATE FROM HIS JAW."
The myridad of mistakes Neuman made are clear to me as an experienced referee which I will explain below.
Proper method:
1. Loudly call time using your voice and hand signal making that "T" sign for time out so that the timekeeper audience and the judges can see and hear it. Yell out loud, "5 MINUTE TIME OUT TO RECOVER FROM INTENTIONAL FOUL OF DELIBERATE HEAD BUTT,
2 POINT DEDUCTION FROM MIRANDA, DOCTOR PLEASE COME UP TO RINGSIDE TO EXAMINE ABRAHAM." Much later he deducts the two points which he can but sooner is better.
(Now the Judges, the TV audience, the fans present and the Commission and the IBF officials are tasked to LET THE REF DECIDE WHAT'S NEXT NOT HAVE A BLOODY RINGSIDE CONVENTION WITH EVERYONE GIVING THE REF SUGGESTIONS, with his confusion and indecision so clearly exposed.)
2. SEND MIRANDA TO WHITE NEUTRAL CORNER NOT A RED ONE WHERE HE REMAINS WITHOUT TALKING TO HIS CORNER.
3. THEN AND THERE WHILE THE DOCTOR AND THE DOCTOR ALONE CAN EXAMINE ABRAHAM, YOU WAIT FOR THE DR'S RULING AND THE CLEARCUT 5 MINUTE TIME PERIOD TO RUN OUT. YOU ASK THE DOCTOR FOR A RULING ON THE HEAD BUTT INJURY AND MAKE SURE AN INTERPRETER IF NECESSARY MAKES IT CLEAR TO ARTHUR A, THAT YES WE KNOW YOU HAVE A BLOODY MOUTH AND POSSIBLE BROKEN JAW, BUT, BUT, BUT, BUT, BUT, BUT,
WE WANT TO KNOW WHAT ARE YOUR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE INTENTIONAL HEAD BUTT INJURY WHICH JUST OCCURRED!!!! WHICH LEFT NO OPEN CUT BUT IS CAUSING YOU TO ASK FOR A TIME OUT, BY TURNING YOUR BACK.
Neuman stands there letting the Doctor endlessly clean out AA's mouth, examine his mandible, which the Doctor is supposed to do to assess all the fighter's injuries. HOWEVER, the way Neuman just stands there without stating empahtically as the one person who is in total charge of the fight, "My ruling is Doctor, that if you determine he cannot continue because of the broken jaw he loses by a tko as that was caused by punches. If he cannot continue due to this headbutt injury then Miranda is DQ'd for causing THIS injury with an intentional butt. So give me a clear answer doctor, saying this loud enough for everyone to hear. That elimantes any confusion!
What unfolds is deplorable as once this convention of indecision reveals that the IBF titleholder AA could lose on a TKO, the people around ringside who have an agenda from the corner to the officials make this poor soul fight with a broken jaw. They should be banned from boxing forever for allowing this.
This was not a hairline invisible Ali V Norton I maybe his jaw is broken, but a distended, swollen and grotesque and dangerous injury that could have caused permanent damage to a human being.
The Doctor should be shot, Neuman allowed the fighter to continue which is deplorable as a broken, fractured and dislocated jaw is not like a bad cut which is just bleeding but a real disfiguring malady.
Then the Coup De Gras is Neuman asks everyone but Abraham, "Can he fight, do you want to let him fight, should he fight, can he continue, yeah, ok, then he beyond belief FINALLY turns to the fighter himself and queries,
"Do you want to fight,?" asking this crippled and brave athlete LAST!
You see Randy Candy wanted to make sure he pleased all the officials there first, was ok with the locals and put the decision in their hands so he could stay pals with them all, that is just what the **** it looked like to me, Yeah, that's the ticket, be politically correct, then I can come back here for another trip with the beer meister and put on another 50 lbs.
A fucking disgrace why? Because he is supposed to protect the life of Abraham no matter how much Abraham wants to continue. He did not clearly state to Abraham and his corner that if your injury from the butt prevents you from continuing Miranda is DQ'd.
He then allowed an endless amount of time for the Doctor to fix up AA jaw, which in essence is an unfair advantage if in fact the jaw injury was caused by legal blows. The time out was for the headbutt not an extended period for jaw repair which is the corner's job if at all.
The ref can let a doctor at anytime administer an exam to a fighter, I am not disputing that. It is the way Neuman stood around allowing a tremendous amount of time to go by after calling time just for the headbutt injury.
The asking everyone ringside for advice on what to do, listening to them,
and not being clear AT ANY TIME OF WHAT HE IS SUPPOSED TO DO, WHAT HIS RULINGS ARE, AND STICKING TO IT. It was a fiasco of indecision.
This was turned around into a jaw repair session which any neutral doctor would have ruled was reason to prevent any fighter form continuing.
The Doctor has only two things to answer during that time out and only two.
1. Give a medical decision on the reason for THIS time out called.
Is the fighter able to continue yes or no via his refusing to continue because of the higher head injury caused by the intentional foul.?
2. Is this a broken jaw, and if so, the bout HAS to be stopped. This isn't the 1950's anymore with Tony Demarco being blasted into 10 knockdown oblivion by Virgil Akins or as per Tyson "Bolivian" which is the cocaine induced mythlogical twilight zone land between Columbia and Bolivia.
(I saw an uppercut by Miranda later that turned AA face into a swollen bloody agony and disfigured his jaw some more, absolutely an inexcusable situation to let him continue for his safety.
Now Neuman, HELLO NEUMAN, goes into the point deduction overkill. My son disagrees withme here on the first low blow call but I say the blows did not merit an immediate point deduction. I felt the first one was borderline, and maybe a little below the waistband. To take a point immediately was overly officious and to save Abraham it seemed. The subsequent point deduction for another low blow I feel the same way about.
Abraham's courage was legendary in this one. I cannot imagine anyone having balls like this again to keep his title. It must have been agony with every tap.
Yet he turned his back, (Who wouldn't?) and fought to survive, again who wouldn't? He kept turning his back, holding, etc and the whole thing was to let a disfigured fighter, survive and win with as many point deductions as possible, with bizzare extended time outs and the entire officaldom there trying to please the Abraham supporters by these unfair calls and methods. No one cared about the safety and welfare of Abraham and no one in my corner would ever get away with showing such a lack of concern for my health (…)
PS: Zum Übersetzen war ich zu faul, sorry.
