Der Sixers Insider hat sich mal wieder gemeldet, nachdem er den exakten Sixers-Nuggets trade mit Iverson vorhergesagt hat Hier ein paar Zeilen von ihm:
Hey all..been traveling for the holidays..hope everyone is having a nice holiday and a safe new year tonight.
Obviously alot has happened since the last time we talked. New GM, Korver gone, team playing rather well. I still do have a contact even with Billy King gone, but we do not get a chance to talk as often. As we head into 08 I will try and get some dirt when I can......
I havent had a chance to read everything posted here...but in short:
We will try and move more salary by teh deadline...but will not move Andre Miller unless completely overwhelmed. Think Evans or Green or Carney etc. I think Miller,Iggy,Dalembert will be kept intact. We may even include a pick in an effort to get an expiring contract back.
Our first round pick assuming its mid first round and the pick we got from Utah which will always be bottom half of first round no matter when we use it, will be used for trade talk this summer. They obviously want a powerforward and plan to inquire on Brand, Marion, Josh Smith via trade/sign and trade etc.
Ed plans to bring contender basketball back to Philly for the 08-09 season. We just got to get thru this year into what should be one of the more intriguing off seasons ever.
I got a few minutes for questions before I head out for to celebrate 08!

Sixerfan1976,
What are the chances that Golden state may want Evans to be this generations Tyrone Hill on their run and gun team? Perhaps Orlando wants Evans.
In the end, I think a team will pony up for Miller. Again, what about Orlando with all of their expirings?
If someone wants to give an expiring for Evans..it will get done. Easier said then done. If we cant move Evans, and believe me we will try, we are comfortable bringing him back next year off the bench as a high energy guy.
As for Miller..or any other trade...I think nothing will happen til closer to the deadline. Ed will get creative to try and find a way to get a few million more cap space for this summer.
They love the pass first mentality of Miller...and thats hard to find these days in point guards. If they are overwhelmed by Orlando or any other team, they will move him, but I think their preference is to keep him.
Miami and the Spurs were in on Korver, what were their offers?
As for what miami offered...my buddy mentioned Mourning's contract and then he would be waived as part of it....I think a pick was involved too..he didnt give specifics on the Spurs..but I didnt ask either

Miller is almost 32, do they really think they will be competing soon enough that holding on to him makes sense?
What is Orlando offering?
Any chance we will go after a guard this summer, like Gilbert Arenas or Josh Childress?
I dont know anything about Orlando offering anythign at this point.
yes they think that they will be contenders next year. And Miller at 32 is playing his best ball ever.(their opinion)
I dont see Arenas happening, dont know about Childress...depends on if green or carney is still here or how Thad is developing.

Sixerfan,
Are there any players already under contract that the 6ers may be looking at, instead of free agency? Perhaps an Amare Stoudemire type of situation?
Are any teams offering to take Green and or Evans in a Miller deal. Perhaps that might be what gets Miller dealt, a team willing to take one or both of their deals. In that case, we could go for 2-4 free agents.
Your guess is as good as mine on if someone will take green/evans with miller and give us back all expirings..that seems too good to be true.
We like Marion...ALOT. But I suspect I wont hear more about acquiring core players til this summer.

Hey Sixerfans, so are they going into the rest of this year trying to win games or do they know they got a nice draft coming up? Hopefully this is on their minds.
They think even with losing Korver(and getting Giricek til end of year) and even if they lose green or evans..that they have a solid nucleus and can make playoffs. Sorry to disappoint if you want them to tank..they wont.
Draft too far away..scouts attending games..but its way too early.
I suspect the team will get the 8 seed or be at the back end of the lottery....

Did Ed Attempt to Package Korver with Either Green or Evans? Could Green or Evans be packaged with a pick for a expirer IE Williams or Brown?
I dont know every scenario with Korver.....but they are trying to move both and may need to include a pick to do it(and get that expiring back)

Thanks again for the info yesterday!
*I started a new topic due to the specific nature of this post.
Another question, there is a poater over at the philly.com boards that is claiming that they have a source and that source is claiming that the 6er FO is targeting a player and that a deal may be announced in the next few days.
Have you heard anything on this? Could it be a deal involving GS and Pietrus, since he is eligible to be dealt today? Are there other players eligible to be dealt today?
Thanks in advance.
Ed will consider any deal that gives us an expiring and we dont have to move Miller,Iguodala,Dalembert, Thaddeus, Jason Smith,Louis Williams to do it. They really dont want to move those 6. I believe there are several targets...Pietrus among them. But GS isnt stupid..they wont move Pietrus for Willie Green for example straight up. You would have to give them a future #1 at the very least(maybe the one we just got). I dont think they have targetted any one specific player...they are just laying out whats out there and available.
The real game is free agency summer 08.....all we will do between now and then is try and create additional space.
