Beppe Marotta reportedly informed Simone Inzaghi that one more Inter star would leave in the summer to balance the books.
The Nerazzurri saw Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku leave the club last summer for a combined €183m fee. However, the Serie A giants will be forced to sell one more top player during the summer transfer window.
According to Calciomercato.com, Marotta and President Steven Zhang informed Inzaghi about the club’s plans during today’s meeting at the club’s headquarters.
Alessandro Bastoni, Milan Skriniar and Lautaro Martinez are among Inter’s most valuable players and one of them could leave the club at the end of the season. The Nerazzurri are open to listening to offers for Stefan de Vrij, but the Dutchman’s worth isn’t the same as his teammates.
The coach and the club also discussed Inter’s transfer strategies with the Nerazzurri in talks with both Paulo Dybala and Henrikh Mkhitaryan who could join the Benamata at the end of their contracts in June.
New signing André Onana also arrived at the headquarters for some social media activities ahead of his official unveiling.
Inzaghi and Inter directors didn’t discuss a possible contract extension for the coach but will do so in the next meeting as the Italian tactician only has a year left in his contract.
According to the report, Inzaghi didn’t seem happy on his way out of the club’s offices today but didn’t talk to the media after his meeting with Marotta and Zhang.
